The Department of Student Leadership & Involvement
I was commissioned by my alma mater to design two office murals for the department of Student Leadership & Involvement. The murals were installed as vinyl print in the department's upstair and downstair office. The downstair area serves as a lobby and hub for students. The mural featured illustrations of students engaging in activities offered by the department, along with custom lettering of values that resonate with their mission in facilitating opportunities that promote student involvement, leadership skills development, and prepare students to take on active societal roles on campus and in their communities.
The upstair area is reserved for department employees as their workplace. The mural featured the department's values more prominently through lettering and metaphoric illustrations to convey their resources in providing housing support, mentorship, leadership skill development, and community building. Designs were first sketched in black & white and after a few iterations of revisions, I digitized the artwork with Adobe Illustrator to prepare a print-ready file appropriate for vinyl printing.
The murals were printed and installed by a local sign company, hired by the client.
