Snelgrove Ice Cream Murals

Custom illustrations for Snelgrove, a family-owned ice cream brand from Utah. I created a timeline mural that shares the story of their brand history and dedication to quality with real fruit and premium ingredients. The murals are displayed at Snelgrove in Centerville, Sandy, and Saratoga Springs.

The challenge of the project was to create a design that can be easily reconfigured to fit the walls of multiple shop locations, each with a different store layout and wall size. I relied on a geometric layout to fit illustrations within rectangular shapes. This approach allowed me rearrange the artwork to fit the various wall sizes.

Artwork is digitally drawn with Adobe Illustrator and installed as printed vinyl by a local sign company.
With legibility in mind, I reserved custom lettering for special callouts and used a straightforward font for timeline descriptions. The illustrations include portraits of the founder and his great-granddaughter, Lyndsay, who is continuing the family legacy.

I used the existing brand color palette of red, pink, and blue. The brand color red is used minimally as a high-contrast hue to draw the eye to the start of the timeline with the founder's portrait and the brand logo as the two primary focus points of the mural.
The following illustrations represent the Snelgrove brand values. These additional assets were shown in some store locations as part of the mural or displayed as framed art.
Below are concept sketches during the ideation stage.
